Brian White made his presence known, going through the 32 player field at the Century Club in New Glasgow without losing a match of 9-Ball.
White had wins over John Rushton 7-1, Craig Teal 7-5, Jeremy Basque 7-1, Bill Martin 7-6, Bill MacPherson 7-4, before topping Colin Maloney in the final 9-5. To reach the final Maloney had victories over Francis Isaac 7-1, Kristin Mattatal 7-2, Nick Kaiser 7-5, before dropping a decision to Bill MacPherson 7-5. Maloney regained momentum on B-Side beating Richard Young 7-5, Bruce Lilly 7-6, and avenging his prior loss to MacPherson with a 7-3 win.
Final placements saw MacPherson in third, Lilly was fourth, Richard Young and Bill Martin came 5th-6th, Nick Kaiser and Hugh MacEachern round out the money positions in 7th-8th.
The highlight of the day was the performance of Hugh MacEachern in he 10-Ball Break contest. MacEachern broke and ran all 10 balls for a hefty $1900 pot. Congrats to Hugh!
Event # 4 marked the halfway point in the CSNS Ranking Season. The top three positions for National Open 9-Spots are currently held down by Bill MacPherson (290 Pts), Richard Young (250 Pts) and Colin Maloney (250 Pts). The top three currently in line for National Amateur 9-Ball Spots are Dale Brimicombe (190 Pts), Bill Martin (160 Pts), and Brian Bedford ($135 Pts). Desiree Marshall leads the Women’s point getters with 30 Pts positioning her to earn the National Women’s Open 9-Ball spot. Jennie Saulnier and Rachel Gould are currently tied with 20 points in the next-in-line position for an National Women’s Amateur 9-Ball Spot.
