Nick Kaiser put a stop to Shawn Fequet's bid for a title defense as he ousted the defending Maritime Open AAA champion 4-2 in a fast paced, spirited final. The semi-finals saw Fequet quickly dispatching Jeff Gillin 3-0, while in the other, Kaiser edged Dale Brimicombe 3-2 in a taut match full of safety play. The only exception to that was the one frame where Kaiser claimed the tournament high run with a six black break of 48. Thanks to Billy Martin and the staff at Century Snooker Club in New Glasgow for hosting another premiere Maritime snooker event.
